Hello It’s Dezray here from Paihia School. In Te Ngahere we have been doing cross country practice, we have to run for 15 minutes without stopping but me and my mates just walked most the way tho. We ran  2 laps but then we walked and talked for ten minutes it was really fun, next time I am just try to run most of the way now. Have you run 15 minutes straight before?

Learning our basic facts

In Te Ngahere we have been learning our basic facts. I have learnt 7x12 and 8x12, today my goal is to finish 7x7, 7x6 7x8 and 8x8. How I remember my times tables is to grab a piece of paper and a pen and write my times tables over and over again until i’m finished practicing, then I get tested from the teacher. See you soon bloggers please leave feedback. Thank you.

Art

For the past week we have being doing poupou art (Maori art). We had to start with the head then body. The parts that I struggled with was the hands and legs because I’m not that good at art. Most people would think that the head would be the hardest but for me it was pretty easy. I don’t know what colors to use I haven’t finished yet but I will be very happy when it is. Please tell me if I have done anything wrong.

This week in Te Ngahere we had to do a DLO (digital learning object) We had to include how we did it and why. I learnt how to convert fractions into decimals and percentages, I found the Decimals into percentages the easiest and the percentages into fractions the hardest. At first it was hard but the more I tried it became easier. Here is a screencastify showing you an example. Did you learn anything from my screencastify.

In Te Ngahere we have been doing trick shot challenges.
throw a ping pong ball into a cup in the most creative way possible!

Success Criteria
1. It must bounce off a surface

2. You must use cardboard

3. It has to take at least 3 seconds from
start to finish

4. It must land in the cup

What worked well was we were able to make modifications so that the ball did not fall off the cardboard

What didn’t work well was The person throwing the ball couldn’t throw straight so that we change your person throwing the ball and laser better than the last one. Next time we do this or something similar we should make a plan before we start doing our thing.
We are learning to identify maths in the world around us. This week in Te Ngahere we have been learning about math eyes. Math eyes are something you can see different from the rest of them For maths we had to look at a picher of some gingerbread men, We had to use our math eyes to notice the math in the picture . I enjoyed when we shared it with the class because everyone noticed different things. Do you have math eyes?
